Depth-sensing AR platform

A long-term engagement on a depth-sensing augmented reality platform: more than ten devices carried from first prototype through mass production.

The brief

The client was building a depth-sensing AR platform that spanned multiple devices and hardware generations. They needed an engineering partner who could stay embedded for the long haul and cover mechanical, electrical, and software work as products moved from proto builds toward mass production.

What we built

Across the engagement we supported the full lifecycle of more than ten devices, from early prototyping through engineering and design validation and into mass production. The work spanned functional testing, factory automation, test fixture design and fabrication, rapid prototyping, and high-speed PCB design.

Because the platform depended on cameras and depth sensors behaving identically across every unit, calibration, real-world data collection, and reliability testing ran alongside the hardware work rather than after it.

The outcome

The platform deployed at consumer scale, with camera and sensor integration validated in the field rather than only in the lab.

Client engagements are confidential, so this work is described in general terms.
