About the founder
Brandon Hurd, Founder and CEO
Brandon Hurd started AutoRoboto in 2015 to do one thing well: embed senior engineers inside the world's most demanding hardware programs and carry them from first prototype to mass production. He still runs the company that way, as a working engineer.
For more than a decade he has led AutoRoboto teams working onsite with some of the biggest names in tech. That work includes early spatial-computing devices taken from the lab bench to consumer launch, camera and sensor calibration run at overseas factories at million-unit scale, biometric authentication tested against real-world attacks, teleoperation and data-collection programs for robot learning research, and vision-based autonomous flight for aerospace partners in GPS-denied environments.
He holds a master's in mechanical engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, where he put optic-flow sensing on a quadcopter years before cameras as sensors became the company thesis. He has been proving the same idea ever since: the camera is the most capable sensor in modern hardware, and the team that masters it can ship almost anything.
